TECHSA Committee

The Technology Students’ Association (TECHSA) has officially concluded consultations regarding the appropriate procedure for its forthcoming presidential election, following the receipt of a single qualified nomination for the position of President.
In line with the TECHSA Constitution, a formal memo outlining constitutional provisions and available options was circulated to the Electoral Committee, relevant Executive Committees, the Advising Committee, and recognized Alumni representatives. Members were required to review the Constitution prior to voting.
A total of 40 committee members were eligible to participate. The voting process met the required participation threshold of not less than fifty percent (50%), and the results showed that Option A: Confirmation Election received the highest level of support.
This option preserves democratic legitimacy by requiring the unopposed candidate to receive majority approval from members through a formal electoral process, as provided for under the Constitution.
TECHSA also confirms that while constitutional gaps were identified, any proposed amendments will be addressed after the conclusion of the current election and will take effect from the next election cycle.
Further announcements regarding election dates and procedures will be issued in due course.
For official updates, members are encouraged to follow TECHSA’s authorized communication platforms.
